What is Google Me
Google and Bing are having war in search engines , Google will now tackle apple and windows in OS [ Operating System ] and since Google launched jackass facebook kinda spoof lite version integrated inside Gmail - Google Buzz , again Google is planning new facebook killer - GoogleMe !
Orkut was the one of first free social service that was widely used but since after people tested facebook many of them ditched orkut ! And now there’s a big news that Google will attempt to pull the ground from under Facebook’s feet, by launching a new social networking service of its own possibly mixing and creating a hybrid of orkut , google profiles and of course google buzz added with much more features to crush facebook if rumour is true .
This rumour was tweeted by Digg founder, Kevin Rose, who who’d heard the name of the upcoming “Facebook-killer” would be “Google Me”.
Facebook sticks to social networking and google is waving hands towards Gmail, Docs, Maps, Calendar , OS , and many other stuff . This move of google shows that google is more higher than facebook and have huge potential if it integrates all of its services under a common social netwok which facebook does not provide .
Can it be a Facebook killer? First of all , is this rumor real ?

Google has a way to find your lost Android.
we’ve all lost our mobile phone at one time or another, sometimes in our homes, sometimes in the car and sometimes in bad weather. Now, instead of looking everywhere to find it, you can trust that Google will come to your aid.
This little-known feature of Google allows you to find your Android phone or tablet using the search engine Google on your PC, as long as you meet the right criteria.
the Android phone must have installed the application of Google, Now cards enabled, the web activity and enabled applications, notifications Google Now on and finally reporting location must be set in the mode of “high precision”
Here’s how it works.
- first, use the browser on your computer to log into the Google account you’ve set up on your phone.
- Now type the phrase “find my phone” in the search engine Google on your PC . In response, Google shows a map trying to concentrate on the location of your device. Give at least several seconds, and finally going to see a location on the map is accurate enough to give you a sense of where you left your phone. For example, the map told me the location of my team was accurate to a few meters from where I was.
That’s fine. But what if your phone is lost somewhere in your house? Google will not tell you what room you are in, but it can make the device ring so you can keep track of yourself.
- To hear the device, click the icon or link Ring on the map. The device will ring at full volume for more than five minutes. Once you find it, just click the button to turn off the ringer.
But what if you own an Android tablet rather than a phone? You can still use the search function. I used it to locate my tablet Nexus 7 and it worked very well. Clicking on the icon Ring, the ringing sound went off in my tablet so I could locate it.
The Google search function is not the only way to locate a missing Android device. A similar feature, called Android Device Manager, you can locate and make it sound device. If you believe your device has been stolen, you can also remotely lock and reset the password or delete your data.
Apple offers a function similar track called Find My iPhone, you can find both your iCloud account or the app Find My Phone to locate your iPhone or iPad lost, make them sound to locate, block or delete your data.

What if Google Was There 100 Years Ago
A couple of weeks back there was wide coverage of the Nelson Mandela digital Museum. The overall tone was that it was a good thing although there were some of the opinion that the whole coverage on Nelson Mandela was disproportionate given the immense contribution of other apartheid struggle icons like Oliver Tambo, Walter Sisulu and Chris Hani. However, the whole digitizing project got me thinking.
Suppose Google was there 100 years ago, assuming Nelson Mandela was going to use it just imagine the possibilities. If Nelson Mandela had used Google we might be able now to go through his Gmail emails and see how he communicated and planned the anti-apartheid movements. Suppose he used Google Docs, to create and backup his documents just imagine the wealth of information that will be at the fingertips of historians and political scientists alike. Granted, some of his letters and documents have survived and are stored somewhere safe but I bet that you need to fill in a thousand and one forms before you are allowed access to them, if at all. Suppose, Mandela used Picasa (Yeh yeh Google we know it’s no longer called Picasa now but who cares anyway) and he stored all his pictures there. Today we could have an invaluable cache of visual insight into a man whom the world has come to revere. They say a picture is worth more than a thousand words and I am convinced that say a lot about how such a photo collection will be invaluable today.
We have email in our digital lives but IM exists for a reason. It’s our digital voice. It’s the voice that we use for that close to use while we relegate email to more important issues like letters to the boss. IM is the tool we use for those close to use because we speak and we are assured of a prompt response, which is what we lesser folks call conversation. Therefore if Google was there 100 years ago we would move beyond the Nelson Mandela that the world knows to Nelson Mandela, the man, with all his strengths and imperfections unaltered. We could get to know the truth behind the rumours of that illegitimate child whispered in dark corners. We could have known all the details surrounding his eventual divorce to Winnie Mandela. Most importantly, we could get to the bottom of the circumstances of how he came to marry Graca Machel whose husband was alleged to have been killed by the South African apartheid regime. How did they meet? Were the feelings there when both were still married to their respective spouses? Or did they take advantage of the situation when their respective spouses were conveniently out of the way? Personally, I would have loved to know a whole lot more about the acrimonious spat Nelson Mandela had with Robert Mugabe over the DRC crisis when the latter was head of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security.
But I am digressing. If Google was here 100 years ago I would like to believe other 21st luminaries and villains alike would have used it. Imagine having access to the Google credential of the likes of Albert Einstein, Idi Amin, Martin Luther King, Josef Stalin and Mao Zedong. Now the works of those gentleman, their papers, private letters, photos and other literary effects are locked in museums only accessible physically and if you travel to wherever they are kept. I know Google is resourceful but I don’t think all those works will be digitized in our generation. As a PhD student using personal documents donated to my university by one generous gentleman for my primary research, I know how valuable it is to access the notes and papers of influential people.
Maybe its not too late after all for Google to salvage something. It’s within Googles power to make Barack Obamas notes and papers accessible to future generations so they can learn how difficult and different it is to be the first US black president. It is possible that, after convincing the right and select people, future generations won’t have to lament ‘if only Google was there 100years ago’ as they would have access to digital notes and papers of influential people which we don’t and might not have access to now.

Why Google Search Engines Indexes Only 26 Pages Of Your Blogger Sitemap
Because theres many bloggers newbie that was comfuse about submitting their website/blobs to google wbmasters tools. Also this part would discuss the reasons on why only the latest 26 pages of your blog are indexed upon sitemap submission at Google but not your entire post pages. We will also offer a solution to this. From sitemap submission to crawling errors, you will find solution for all your problems.
I personally apply this technique for my blog and blogs of my clients. I will share how to add noindex and nofollow link elements to categories and archives correctly because a lot of miss-information is hovering in blogosphere related to these terms.
Why Does Google Indexes Limited Pages?
When you submit your sitemap at Google webmaster account, you might have observed that only 26 URLs are shown to be indexed and not the remaining URLs on your blog.
If you have more than 26 posts on your blog then Google wont be able to index the older posts correctly. Though Google crawlers are becoming efficient day by day with auto detection of webpages but still your posts can go neglected due to growing numbers of pages uploaded daily. This problem is related to blogspot blogs alone.
Blogger though free but is highly un- optimized platform in comparison to wordpress. Google uses Atom feed in xml formats to store a backup of your posts instead of the rich RSS feed format. The sitemap is generated automatically whenever you create a new blog at blogger and displays a list of only first 26 pages of your blog.
This can effect your crawl rate and traffic because not all your pages are indexed. Therefore to let Google access every single page of your blog we will need to submit multiple sitemaps. The procedure is really simple as discussed below:
Multiple Sitemap Generation For blogger

Now I will break the entire blog posts into small segments comprising of 500 posts each. Its better to submit 500 posts per sitemap for better indexing.
To generate sitemaps for your blog follow these steps:
1. Go and check your blogger dashboard to see how many posts have you written so far.
2. Count total number posts. The count is visible just below your blog title on your dashboard.
3. If your total post count is less than 500 then you must submit the following sitemap:
For Blogs that have posts less than 500 you can use this below code:
==>> atom.xml?redirect=false&start- index=1&max-results=500
Also if your post count is more than 500 but less than 1000 then submit the following two sitemaps instead:
For Blogs with posts less than 1000 use this below code
==>> atom.xml?redirect=false&start- index=1&max-results=500
==>> atom.xml?redirect=false&start- index=501&max-results=500
For Blogs with posts less than 1500:
==>> atom.xml?redirect=false&start- index=1&max-results=500
==>> atom.xml?redirect=false&start- index=501&max-results=500
==>> atom.xml?redirect=false&start- index=1001&max-results=500
Similarly if your post count is greater than 1000 but less than 1500 then you will submit the following sitemaps and so on.
Now you have successfully generated or created the sitemaps of your blog google webmaster tools. Lets know submit them to Google.
Now Submit the Sitemaps Youve Just Generated
1. Go To Google Webmasters.
2. You will see list of all blogs that you created at blogger, Choose your main blog
3. You are now on the Dashboard page where you can see reports related to crawl errors, search queries and sitemaps.
4. Click the More » Link just under the sitemaps report.
5. Towards top right side, click the ADD/TEST SITEMAP button.
6. In the empty blank paste your first sitemap and then click "Submit Sitemap". Repeat this step for remaining sitemaps until you have finished submitting all the sitemaps that you generated.
7. Now Google will take at most three days to crawl and index every single page of your blog. After 1-3 days you will find that all URLS that you submitted are successfully indexed.
As you can see in the screenshot above that I have submitted three sitemaps instead of two. The last one which contains 26 URLs is an optional one because we already contained our first 26 URLs under the 500 limit.
